Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) is an invasive pest that is found to attack corn plants causing crop failure. Endophytic entomopathogenic fungi can be used as an alternative control. This is because it is not easily washed and can trigger plant growth. Therefore the aim of this study was to observe the pathogenicity of entomopathogenic fungi inoculated on the roots of maize seedlings on larval mortality and development of S. frugiperda and growth of maize seedlings. There were eight mushroom isolates from South Sumatra used in this study. These isolates included TaAlPA, LtKrLH, TaPsBA, TaLmMe which is a species of Beauveria bassiana, BKbTp species of Penicillium citrinum, MSwTp1 Talaromyces diversus, and MSwTp3 Metarhizium anisopliae. Inoculation of fungal suspensions was carried out with 1010 dilution which was inoculated through the roots of the seedlings using a Randomized Block Design (RBD). 10 HST seeds were given to the 1st month of S. frugiperda larvae. In addition, the seedlings were also tested for confirmation to see if there was a fungus that colonized or not. Administration of eight isolates of entomopathogenic fungi had a positive effect on plant growth. This is due to the presence of colonizing fungi as evidenced by confirmatory tests. Provision of corn seed after application has a negative effect on the development of S. frugiperda. The highest larval mortality occurred in the BSwTd4 treatment with a percentage of 65%. Normal pupae in the control were 100%, while in the treatment it ranged from 37.17-87.44%. A total of 315 adults were formed, 75 of which were control adults. Laying of eggs and the number of larvae that hatched in the treatment tended to be less than the control. The BSwTd4 treatment had the highest effect on the growth of maize seedlings and the development of S. frugiperda. Larval mortality caused by these isolates was significantly different in each treatment.
