KARAKTERISTIK CONTINOUS FIBER BIOCOMPOSITE MENGGUNAKAN SERAT DAUN NANAS
The research of this study was to determine the mechanical properties of biocomposites using straight fiber pineapple leaves (countinous fiber biocomposite). The research method used is descriptive method with a mixture of pineapple leaf fiber and polyester resin with straight fiber direction (continuous fiber). The treatment factors consisted of three treatment levels, the first treatment level was 40% pineapple leaf fiber and 60% polyester resin, the second treatment level was 50% pineapple leaf fiber and 50% polyester resin, the third treatment level was 60% pineapple leaf fiber and 40% polyester resin, the treatment was tested with two repetitions. Research shows that the increased fiber volume fraction has an effect on tensile strength, elastic modulus and bending strength. Based on the research results, the fiber volume fraction of 60%:40% produced the highest tensile strength of 44,47 MPa, the highest average value of elastic modulus was produced by the volume fraction of 60%:40% of 3,110 GPa, and the highest bending strength value was produced by the volume fraction of 60%:40% of 1835,45 Mpa
