RESPON TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays saccarata L) DI SEBABKAN OLEH PENAMBAHAN PUPUK KANDANG SAPI DAN PUPUK NITROGEN
Corn is one of the strategic commodities and has high economic value because corn is the main source of carbohydrates and protein after rice. Based on the order of staple foodstuffs in the world, corn ranks third after wheat and rice. But in reality, the level of corn production in Indonesia is still relatively low. This is due to the lack of land fertility in Indonesia. Therefore, the purpose of this study is an effort to increase corn production by conducting research on the addition of cow manure and nitrogen fertilizer to determine the response of corn plants. This research was conducted in February 2021-April 2021. Analysis of the chemical properties of soil, plants and manure was carried out at the Laboratory of Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility, Department of Soil, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used in this study was an experimental method using a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 9 treats and 3 P0 = Control tests; P1 = 100% recommended dose N; P2 = 10 tons ha-1 of cow manure; P3 = 100% recommended dose N + 5 tons ha-1 cow manure; P4 = 100% recommended dose N + 10 tons ha-1 cow manure; P5 = 75% recommended dose N + 5 tons ha-1 cow manure; P6 = 75% recommended dose N + 10 tons ha-1 cow manure; P7 = 50% recommended dose N + 5 tons ha-1 cow manure; P8 = 50% recommended dose N + 10 tons ha-1 . Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of cow manure and nitrogen fertilizer had no real effect on the height of corn plants and had no noticeable effect on the number of leaves of 42 HST. Then the best N-Total soil content was obtained from this study on treatment (100% recommended dose N + 5 tons ha-1 cow manure). The best treatment obtained from this study was on the treatment (75% recommended dose N + 10 tons ha-1 cow manure).
