PEMATANGAN GONAD IKAN SELINCAH (Belontia hasselti) DALAM KERAMBA DENGAN PADAT TEBAR BERBEDA
Java combtail (Belontia hasselti) has a high economic value for consumption and potential as an ornamental fish. Currently java combtails are obtained by catching from nature and rarely cultivated. Domestication is the first step for fish farming activities. One thing that must be considered in fish hatchery is the appropriate level of gonad maturity. This study aimed to determine the best stocking density in the gonad development of broodstocks of java combtails fish in the Aquaculture and Experimental Ponds Laboratory. The experiment used a Completely Randomized Design consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications, P1 (10 fish m-3), P2 (20 fish m-3), P3 (30 fish m-3), and P4 (40 fish m-3). Fish rearing was performed for 45 days. The results showed that P3 was the best treatment which resulted in the development of gonads of male fish from TKG II to TKG III and female fish from TKG II to TKG V with a male IKG of 1.11% and 13.91% for females, the highest GI value was 7.98 for male and 81.63 for female with a fecundity value of 4174 eggs and an egg diameter of 40.34 µm.
