This research aims to describe the form of the ecranization of Luluk HF's novel Mariposa into the film Mariposa by director Fajar Bustomi and its implications for learning literature in high school. This research is a qualitative research with comparative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this research are reading techniques, viewing techniques, and note-taking techniques. The results of this research show that there are 87 data on shrinkage form ecranization consisting of 67 plot shrinkage data, 12 background shrinkage data, and 8 character shrinkage data. The results of the ecranization of addition forms consist of 18 data and 19 images consisting of 16 additional plot data, 2 additional character data, 17 images for additional plot and 2 images for additional characters. The results of the ecranization of varied forms of change consist of 12 data and 20 images consisting of 8 data of changes in varied plots, 2 data of changes in various backgrounds, and 2 data of changes in various characters, 16 images of changes in varied plots, 2 images of changes in various images, and 2 images of changes various characters. The results of this research can be implicated in teaching literature in class XI high school, namely Basic Competency (KD) 4.18 Showing one of the characters in a drama that is read or watched orally.
