A grazing area is an area or grassland area overgrown with various types of grasses and legumes for fodder for livestock, which are available for both production and nutritional needs. The purpose of this study was to determine the botanical composition and forage production as well as the holding capacity of natural pasta in Rantau Panjang District, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research was carried out in a natural grazing area in the Rantau Panjang District and the Animal Nutrition and Feeding Laboratory of the Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The method used is a systematic method by taking random samples using a 1m2 quadrant. The samples used were 50 with 5 sampling locations. The results of the research obtained were 23 types of forage vegetation, namely Ageratum conyzoides, Ammannia baccifera, Andrographis paniculata, Aracis pintoi, Axonopus compressus, Brachiaria paspaloides, Brachiaria reptans, Centrosema pubescens,Cynodon dactylon, Cyperus rounds, Cyperus compactus, Cyperus compactus L., Cyperus iria. rotundus L., Eluesine indica, Eclipta prostrata, Hyptis brevipes, Lopatherum gracile brogn, Ludwigia octovalvis, Melastoma affine, Mikania micrantha, Ottochloa nodosa, Pennisetum polystchim, and Polygonum amphibium 11.829 mg/m2 of fresh forage production and production of ingredients dry forage 31,942 kg/ha2 and a carrying capacity of 4.01 ST/ha/year. The addition of the number of livestock in the natural grazing area of Rantau Panjang District is still very possible because the potential and production of the available forage availability is very abundant in order to optimize high forage production so that overgrazing does not occur and can increase livestock productivity.
