This research aims to obtain several ecotypes of sugarcane germplasm cultivated by farmers acolround South Sumatra, to develop plant collection, and to identify their growth and yield characters. The plant collection was established at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya, Indralaya. The research was conducted from August 2022 to January 2023. Those all ecotypes were utilized as beverage except for ecotypes of Serijabo, Plaju, and Tanjung-Baru-Petai that also utilized as medicines. Measurement of sugar content resulted in about 10% to 18% brix, with the highest content observed on Prabu-Jaya-B. Measurements during 5-month-plant collections indicated that in general, the ecotype with highest plant was Plaju ecotype. The highest leaf count and longest leaves were also observed in the Plaju ecotype, while the largest diameter was found in the Tanjung-Agung-B ecotype. The ecotypes with the highest number of internodes were Serijabo, Tanjung-Baru-Petai, and Tanjung-Agung-B. The Mariana ecotype had the longest internodes. The Prabu-Jaya-B ecotype had the highest brix content. The collected sugarcane stalks exhibited various colors, including yellow, bright yellow, pale yellow, yellow-green, greenish-yellow, purplish-brown, reddish-brown, and dark brown.
