ANALISIS KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS PESERTA DIDIK PADA TOPIK GERAK LURUS DI SMP NEGERI 1 PARITTIGA
Physics seems to be a tricky subject, so students avoid it. This is because various concepts and formulas are difficult to understand. On the other hand, the transition to the 21st century is a period where the development of information and communication technology is increasing rapidly, including in the field of education. Teaching and learning activities in the 21st century in schools are related to four competencies that are often formulated in 4K, namely communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity. Creative thinking is one of the 21st century learning skills and emphasizes the application of higher order thinking, studying concepts and principles as the key to scientific learning. The aim of this research is to know the description of students' critical thinking skills at SMP Negeri 1 Parittiga on the topic of straight motion. The research method used is descriptive research and a quantitative approach using validated question instruments. The results of the study showed that the critical thinking skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Parittiga as a whole could be categorized as very low with a percentage of 81.44%, which was in the interval 0 ≤ 43.75. Thus, students in the critical thinking skills of SMP Negeri 1 Parittiga students in science learning are still very low. So it is necessary for further research, namely to make an effort that can improve the critical thinking skills of junior high school students in science learning.
