PENGGUNAAN TEPUNG KEPALA UDANG SEBAGAI SUBSTITUSI TEPUNG IKAN PADA PAKAN IKAN BETOK (Anabas testudineus)
Feed is an essential factor in aquaculture. Prices of feed ingredients are increasingly expensive, causing the need to find alternative materials that can be used as feed ingredients. One of the feed ingredients that can be used is fish meal. However, the price of fishmeal continues to increase. Shrimp head meal has a high protein content, so it can be considered a fish feed ingredient as a substitute for a fish meal. This study aimed to determine the percentage of shrimp head meals as a substitute in feed formulations for climbing perch. A completely randomized design was carried out in this study. Four treatments (P) (percentage of different shrimp head meal in the formulation for betok fish) and three replications were applied, consisting of a control treatment (P0) which was 0% shrimp head meal, 9,5% (P1), 19% (P2), 28,5% (P3), and 38% (P4). Fingerlings measuring 5 ± 0.5 cm with a stocking density of 2 L-1 tail were reared for 40 days in this study. The results showed that P4 with the percentage of 38% shrimp head meal resulted in the best absolute weight growth (0.79 g), absolute length growth (0.86 cm), feed efficiency (17.92%), the protein efficiency ratio (0.87) and survival rate (100%). During the culture, the water temperature ranged from 25.4-30.4̊C, pH 6.1-7.5, dissolved oxygen 3.43-4.19 mg L-1 and ammonia 0.02-0.36 mg L-1.
