Local history is a type of history learning that must be learned by every student as part of society. Through local history, students can get to know past events that occurred in an area in a structured and detailed manner. This study analyzes the role of museums as a source of learning local history, in this case, the A.K. Gani. Museum is one of the places provided to convey local history. This study outlines the background to the establishment of the A.K. Gani, the collections contained therein, to the use of the museum as a source of local history in learning. This study aims to describe the background of the founding of the National Hero Museum dr. A.K. Gani, the collections contained therein, to the use of the museum as a source for learning local history. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The research is located at the A.K. Gani, precisely on Jalan MP. Mangkunegara No.1F, Suka Maju, Sako District, Palembang City. The data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, and documentation. This research data source is divided into two, namely primary data sources and secondary data sources. The primary data source comes from interviews with Palembang 13 Public High School teachers who use the A.K. Gani as a source of learning local history. Meanwhile, secondary data comes from books, articles, the internet, photos, and other documentation. The results of the study show that learning local history at Public School 13 Palembang which utilizes the A.K. Gani as a learning resource encourages student activity. During learning at the museum, students become more active, have a high learning enthusiasm, are not bored or bored with history lessons that are only in the form of theory, increase social attitudes, and activate all their senses in exploration activities, starting from tracing, observing, interviewing with resource persons to do documentation.
