The effect of LED color and the type of growing media on the growth and yield of microgreens has not been widely studied, so that there are not many references available on this subject. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effect of LED light color and type of growing media on the growth of broccoli microgreens (Brassica oleracea L.). This study was conducted in August-September 2022 in Timbangan Village, North Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province. This study was arranged using a split-plot randomized design (SRD) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The main plot factor is the difference in the color of the LED lights, consisting of L0 = white, L1 = blue, and L2 = red. The subplot factor was the variation in the type of planting media, consisting of M1 = vermiculite, M2 = rockwool, M3 = cocopeat, M4 = husk charcoal. The variables observed were light intensity, air temperature, absorption of planting media, percentage of germination, plant height, root length, plant fresh weight, root fresh weight and leaf greenness level. The data of this research were analyzed using analysis of variance at 5% real level and tested further with 5% LSD test. Based on the results of the study, it showed that the color of the LED light did not significantly affect all variables, besides that the type of planting media had a very significant effect on all observed variables except the leaf greenness level, and the interaction between treatments did not have a significant effect on all variables. Vermiculite (M1) gave higher yields than other planting media on the yield of brokoli microgreens. The results of the study suggest that increasing the light intensity with vermiculite growing media can give better results on the growth of broccoli microgreens.
