ANALISIS LITERASI SAINS SISWA SMP BERBASIS SOCIO-SCIENTIFIC ISSUES DI SMP NEGERI 1 INDRALAYA PADA MATERI ENERGI
This study aims to determine the scientific literacy of junior high school students based on socio-scientific issues at SMPN 1 Indralaya on energy topic. This study used a quantitative descriptive research method and data analysis used the Rasch model with a sample of two classes out of eight classes selected using random sampling technique. The instrument used in this research is a modification of the 2006 and 2015 PISA questions related to the concept of energy. The results showed that students' scientific literacy was 45.61% in the high category, and 54.39% in the low category. Based on the results of the percentage of student achievement in the aspect of content knowledge with indicators of scientifically interpreting data and evidence, it was obtained 46.84%. Achievements in the aspect of content knowledge with indicators explaining phenomena scientifically were obtained 36.84%. Achievements on the aspect of procedural knowledge with indicators of interpreting data and evidence scientifically obtained 30.71%. While the achievement on the procedural knowledge aspect with indicators explaining phenomena scientifically was 21.49%. This shows that the aspect of students' content knowledge is better than procedural knowledge. Students are also better at answering questions with indicators of interpreting data and evidence scientifically compared to indicators of explaining phenomena scientifically.
