APLIKASI Trichoderma sp. KOMPOS TERHADAP PENYAKIT LAYU FUSARIUM PADA TANAMAN MENTIMUN (Cucumis sativus L.)
Fusarium wilt disease is one of several major diseases that often cause losses to farmers, especially cucumber plants (Cucumis sativus L.). There are several ways to control this disease, one of which is by using natural enemies or biological agents such as Trichoderma sp. Antibiotically Trichoderma sp. capable of suppressing the growth rate of pathogens in plants. However, Trichoderma sp. need time to develop properly before competing with pathogens for nutrients. Therefore the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the incubation period of Trichoderma sp. in suppressing the development of fusarium wilt in cucumber. This study used RAK with 5 treatments and 7 replications with 1 replication as a control. Replications 1 to 4 were given Trichoderma sp. treatment 1 with 15 days of incubation period, treatment 2 with 10 days of incubation period, treatment 3 with 5 days of incubation period, and treatment 4 with 0 days of incubation period with the same dose of 20 g, while the control was not given Trihoderma sp. but only given 10 ml of Fusarium oxysporum as well as other treatments. The symptoms that occurred in the field showed that most of the controls died around 72.14% because there was no Trichoderma sp. in it, but many test plants also died in treatments 1 to 4 which were given Trichoderma sp. with different incubation periods. After further study, the influence of weather made plants more susceptible to disease so that pathogens could enter tissues and also the use of less doses and a short incubation time affected the growth of Trichoderma sp. to thrive and compete with pathogens.
