EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN UNTUK TANAMAN KAYU PUTIH (Melaleuca cajuputi) UMUR TANAM PERTAMA SAMPAI KETIGA DI LAHAN REKLAMASI BANKO BARAT PT BUKIT ASAM Tbk
The eucalyptus plant (Melaleuca cajuputi) is one of the plants used as a revegetation plant in post-mining reclamation activities. Eucalyptus plants come from the Myrtaceae family, the tree height can reach 10-20 meters. Eucalyptus plants are able to live in conditions on marginal lands and on soils that have good drainage and also on poor drainage with a slope of less than 15%. This study aims to examine the level of land suitability whether it is suitable for the growth of eucalyptus (Melaleuca cajuputi) in each planting age class. This research was conducted in June - July 2022, at PT Bukit Asam Tbk Tanjung Enim, South Sumatra and for analysis at the Chemistry, Biology and Soil Fertility Laboratory as well as the Physics, Conservation, Survey and Evaluation Laboratory, Department of Soil, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. The experiment in this study was designed using a field survey method by comparing 3 sample locations at each of the first planting ages to the third planting age for eucalyptus plants. well, done 3 times the repetition of soil samples. The results on the actual land suitability at the IUP Banko Barat research location PT Bukit Asam Tbk obtained 2 actual land suitability classes, namely N-nr and S3-na with the heaviest limiting factor being soil pH with a value of N (not suitable) and N- Total, Available-P, and Potassium with S3 values (at marginal). After being given input for improvement by liming and fertilizing recommendations, a potential land suitability value was obtained which had 2 potential suitability classes, namely S2-nr and S1 with the limiting factor being the soil pH value.
