PENGARUH VARIASI MEDIA PENDINGIN AIR SANTAN PADA PROSES HARDENING TERHADAP BAJA ST37 DENGAN METODE UJI KEKERASAN
ST 37 steel is a low carbon steel which is also called mild steel. This material is widely used for the manufacture of steel bars, tanks, shipping, bridges, towers, lift aircraft and in machinery. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of hardness in the hardening process on low carbon and to determine the effect of hardness in the hardening process with various cooling media on the hardness level of low carbon steel. This type of research is pure experimental research. This research specimen has a size with a diameter of 40 mm and a length of 25 mm. This specimen went through a heat treatment hardening process with a variety of coconut milk cooling media, after which the specimen was subjected to the Rockwell hardness test process. The research results from the hardness test process obtained a hardness value of 56.1 HRC and for the smallest value 61.1 HRC.
