Economic growth is one of the benchmarks that can be used to see the economic capabilities and welfare of a country even within the scope of the region. The state of economic growth within the scope of countries and regions makes it possible to continue to change every year due to various factors. This study aims to analyze the influence of human development index factors, population, and the degree of fiscal decentralization on regional economic growth with a study area of 5 Sumatra Island provinces during 2010-2020. In this study, a quantitative descriptive analysis method was used with panel data regression analysis techniques. The results showed that the human development index had a significant effect on economic growth while the population and degree of fiscal decentralization did not have a significant influence on economic growth in the 5 provinces of Sumatra Island in the 11-year period. It is recommended that local governments can take more effective policies in increasing economic growth, especially in optimizing human quality and improving strategies in managing regional finances.
