UJI KINERJA MESIN PENGERING OTOMATIS KEMPLANG IKAN TENGGIRI (Scomberomorus commersoni.) TIPE RAK DENGAN PEMANAS KACA
Drying is the process of reducing or even eliminating a certain amount of water or liquid in a material. This research aims to test the performance of a rack-type drying machine with a glass heater, especially in this case on drying mackerel kemplang. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Agricultural Energy Biosystems and drafting, Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This drying machine uses a heating source in the form of a glass heating hatching machine. The research method used in this study is a randomized group factorial design (RAKF). This drying is done with 2 treatment factors, namely temperature (A) and fan rotation speed (B). There are two parameters observed, namely the main parameters and supporting parameters. The main parameters observed in this study were drying rate (g/hour), weight loss (g) and electricity consumption (kWh). Supporting data include humidity (RH) and wind speed. The results showed that the highest drying rate value on the upper shelf was in the 65ºC temperature treatment and 1400 rpm fan speed (A3B3) at 32.35 g/hour and 33.32 g/hour, respectively.
