The agricultural commodity zoning approach can overcome the problem of less productive land to become land with more productive commodities. To build a strong, high-productivity, efficient, highly competitive and sustainable agriculture, it is necessary to carry out agricultural management and determine superior commodities in each development area. The aims of this research are to: 1) analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of local pegagan rice in its conservation efforts in Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. 2) Determine the priority strategy that should be chosen for the preservation of local pegagan rice, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. 3) Analyze the formulation of appropriate alternative strategies for the development of local pegagan rice, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency. The research method used is the case study method, namely research conducted by looking directly into the field. While the data collected in this study came from primary data and secondary data. The results of this study are 1) The results of the SWOT analysis of saving pegagan rice conservation in Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency are strengths with a score of 1.12, weaknesses with a score of 1.29, opportunities with a score of 1.25, and threats with a score of 0.29. 2) the priority strategy that should be chosen for preserving local pegagan rice, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency using SWOT analysis, Pegagan Rice Conservation is in quadrant 1 using the S-O strategy.
