EVALUASI IMPLEMENTASI PENGENDALIAN HAMA DAN PENYAKIT TERPADU OLEH PETANI TANAMAN CUCURBITACEAE DI SUMATERA SELATAN
Cucurbitaceous plants are horticultural crops that are widely cultivated by farmers in each growing season. Cucurbitaceous plants are plants which need intensive cares. Various constraints that inhibit the growth of this plant are due to pests and diseases, this can be detrimental to the cultivation of this plant. Integrated Pest and Disease Control (IPM) is an approach to OPT (Plant Pest Organisms) control based on ecological considerations and economic efficiency in sustainable environmental ecosystem management. The purpose of this study was to find out whether farmers implement integrated pest and plant disease control on cucurbitaceous plants appropriately and the extent of farmers' knowledge about implementing IPM. This research was a surveyland research carried out using a purposive sampling method, namely the selection of research locations according to predetermined criteria and the selection of sample plants according to research needs, namely 36 samples in each field. The conclusion in this study is that the results of correlation tests on pest and disease populations show that the correlation between the two variables is low, the high severity of pests and diseases means that it is influenced by other factors. Environmental factors greatly affect the growth of pests and diseases resulting in large yield losses to farmers.
