This study aimed to determine the effect of Imperata mulch and cow manure on the growth and yield of sweet corn (Zea mays L. saccharata) and weed growth. This research was conducted in Palembang, South Sumatra, from September to December 2022. This study used a factorial randomized block design method which consisted of 2 factors, the first factor was Imperata mulch (M) which consisted of 3 levels, namely M1 = without mulch, M2 = Imperata mulch 4 tons ha-1 (1,28 kg plot-1), M3 = Imperata mulch 6 tons ha-1 (1,92 kg plot-1). The second factor was the dosage of cow manure (K) consisted of 3 levels, namely K1 = 10 tons ha -1 of cow manure (3,2 kg plot-1), K2 = 15 tons ha-1 of cow manure (4,8 kg plot-1) , K3= 20 tons ha-1 of cow manure (6,4 kg plot-1). The total treatment were 9 treatment combinations with 3 replications. The results showed that the use of Imperata mulch 6 tons ha-1 and cow manure at a dose of 20 tons ha-1gave the best effect on the growth and yield of sweet corn plants based on the highest yields on plant height, cob length, cob diameter, cob weight, male flower age and female flower age. Before treatment the dominant weed species was Imperata cylindrica with SDR 20,41%, after treatment the dominant weed was Ageratum conyzoides with SDR 19,93%. There was a change in the species of weeds that grew after treatment. 5 species of new weeds grew after the treatment of imperata mulch and cow manure, namely Ageratum conyzoides, Phylanthus urinaria, Mitracarpus hirtus, Eleusine indica, and Sida rhombifolia. Whereas weeds Centrosema pubescens Benth, Echinocloa colona, Asystasia gangetica and Cyperus rotondus were no longer found after imperata mulch and cow manure treatment.
