PENGARUH JARAK TANAM DAN VARIETAS TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN HASIL JAGUNG MANIS PADA POLIKULTUR TANAMAN KELAPA SAWIT
This study aims to obtain the right varieties and spacing for the growth and yield of maize (Zea mays L.) in oil palm polycultures. This research was carried out at the Oil Palm Research Garden (3º13’16”S 104º38’25ºE), Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya Utara District, Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra from January to March 2023. The research was carried out using a Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) with 2 treatment factors. This factor is a combination of corn varieties and spacing consisting of 9 treatment levels with 3 replications. The treatments consisted of Varieties Bonanza F1 (V1), Secada F1 (V2), Sweet Top (V3) and the spacing of 75 cm x 20 cm (J1), 75 cm x 25 cm (J2), 75 cm x 30 cm (J3). ). The results of the observations were analyzed using variance and continued with the 5% BNT test. Parameters observed were light intensity, soil pH, temperature, height of corn plant, number of corn leaves, diameter of corn plant, length of cob with husks, length of cobs without husks, diameter of cobs with husks, diameter of cobs without husks, weight of cobs without husks, weight of cobs without husks , seed sugar content, number of spear leaves, number of female flowers, number of male flowers and number of fresh fruit bunches. Sunlight on space under the shade gets an average result of 26134 lux. The highest humidity measurement is 83% in January. The highest temperature measurement is 32.63 ºC in March. The Secada F1 (V2) variety treatment gave the best results for the growth of plant height and stem diameter. Treatment of the Bonanza F1 (V1) variety gave the best results for cob length with husks, cob length without husks, cob diameter, cob diameter without husks, cob weight with husks, cob weight without husks and seed sugar content. Treatment with a spacing of 75 cm x 25 cm (J2) gave the best results for growth in plant height, stem diameter, cob length, cob weight and cob weight without husks. Sweet corn plant polyculture in oil palm gives less optimal results on the growth and yield of sweet corn compared to the monoculture system. Cultivating sweet corn in oil palm groves gave no significant effect on the productivity of oil palm plants. Keywords: Oil palm, maize, varieties, spacing, polyculture, light intensity
