This study aims to (1) Identifying the conditions and causes of floods on paddy fields in Danau Rata Village, Sungai Rotan District, Muara Enim Regency, (2) Analyzing the household income of rice farmers, (3) Analyzing survival strategies carried out by rice farmers due to floods. This research was carried out in October 2022 in Danau Rata Village, Sungai Rotan District, Muara Enim Regency using the survey method. The results of this study show that (1) Flooding in Danau Rata Village occurs within a period of 1-4 months with flood heights on rice fields varying from 0.5 to 2 m. The most dominant causes of flooding are other causes, namely clogged rivers, high rainfall, river tides and no drainage with a percentage of 45.16%. (2) The average household income earned by farmers is Rp.36,668,510,-/lg/yr. The lowest income was obtained from rice farming work, which was 6.10% and farming work other than rice (rubber) which was 36.08% and the highest income was obtained from non-farm work, which contributed 61.20%. The main job of farmers, namely rice farming, cannot be done optimally because floods that hit paddy fields cause farmers to experience crop failure and crop failure so that farmers switch to non-farming jobs. (3) The survival strategy carried out by farmers affected by floods is to use active strategies, passive strategies, and network strategies. From these three strategy indicators, an average score of 11,54 with moderate criteria was obtained. Farmers in Danau Rata Village make more savings by reducing household expenses and looking for side jobs both in farming businesses other than rice and outside the farming business.
