STUDI ANATOMI AKAR TANAMAN BAJAKAH TEMPALA MERAH (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.) DAN SUMBANGANNYA PADA PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI SMA
This study aims to determine the anatomical structure of bajakah tempala merah roots (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.) and differences in the number of laticiferous cells in adult roots and young roots of bajakah tempala merah. This study uses a descriptive method that describes the characteristics of young roots and adult roots of bajakah tempala merah (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk.) as research objects root anatomy observations are carried out by making transverse section and longitudinal section using microtomes and observed using a binocular microscope. Parameters observed include (1) tissue arrangement from outside to inside, (1) cell shape, (ii) number of cell layers, (iv) number of laticiferous cells in adult roots and young roots and (v) laticifer cell type. The results showed that the roots of red forge steels are composed of periderm tissue in the form of felem, felogen, feloderm, sclerenchyma tissue in the form of fibers in the phloem and xylem, phloem secondary vessel network, secondary meristem tissue in the form of vessel cambium, xylem secondary vessel network, and parenchyma tissue which is found both in phloem, xylem and pith., the number of layers of each tissue and cell shape varies, periderm tissue 12- 15 cell layers are rectangular, the sclerenchyma tissue of 8-11 cell layers is spindle- shaped, the parenchyma tissue of 5-11 cell layers is polyhedral, secondary meristem tissue 2-5 layers of cells are flattened quadrangular, The number of laticiferous cells in adult root bark tissue ranges from 4-5 cells/6.25×10^6 μm² more than the number of laticifers in young root bark tissue which ranges from 1-2 cells/6.25×10^6 μm², and the laticifer cell type in the roots of bajakah tempala merah plants is classified as non-articulated, branched laticifer. The results of this study can be used as basic data in the study of root anatomy structure and used as enrichment material on KD 3.3 and 4.3 material in the form of booklet.
