This study aims to determine the critical thinking skills of SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang students on temperature and heat. This study used a quantitative descriptive research method with a sample of two classes from three classes selected using a random sampling technique. The instrument used is in the form of 6 items describing the material temperature and heat. Based on the results of student achievements in the categories of evaluation, analysis, arguments/experiments, interpretations and strategies or tactics, the following percentages for student achievements are 81.06%, 92.42%, 37.51%, 65.15% and 51.51%. The high category indicator is 92.42% and the low category is 37.51%. The results of this study are that the average value of students' critical thinking skills is 64.77% on a scale of 100. This shows that students' critical thinking skills are still in the medium category. Due to students' critical thinking skills in the moderate category it is expected that educators apply learning and giving questions that emphasize critical thinking skills
