This research aims to find out the factors that influence people's behavior of throwing garbage into the river in Kota Baru Village. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique used interviews, observation, and documentation of seven research subjects. Data analysis techniques through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the research obtained, namely; the community basically already has knowledge about the environmental impact of the habit of littering, the community also already has concern for the environment, as evidenced by actions such as working together and processing waste into crafts, but the actions taken have not been able to overcome the environmental problems that occur, because cleaning facilities have not been provided and the weak role of the village government in implementing regulations and providing socialization to the community regarding environmental cleanliness, so that the habit of littering continues. From these results, it can be concluded that the dominant factor causing people's littering habits to continue is the weak role of the Kota Baru Village government regarding environmental cleanliness and the lack of environmental cleanliness facilities.
