This study aims to: ( 1) Produce the development of Lectora Inspire Softwarebased learning media on explanatory text material for class XI students at SMA Negeri 4 Palembang; (2) the research was conducted using research and development methods (Research and Development) using a combined development model, namely the Borg and Gall development model with Allesi and Trollip; (3) describing the needs of teachers and students from the results of interviews and needs analysis of learning media for writing explanatory texts based on the Lectora Inspire Software for class XI students at SMA Negeri 4 Palembang; ( 4) making development plans by making flowcharts and storyboards, preparing materials, loading all pieces as a whole, developing the initial form of the product, and validating tests; (5) the validation test is carried out by linguists, media, and materials experts. The validation results of language experts get a total score of 34 with a maximum score of 35 with a percentage of 97.14%. Media expert validation results get a total score of 40 with a maximum score of 45 with a percentage of 88.88%. Meanwhile, the results of the validation of material experts get a total score of 54 with a maximum score of 55 with a percentage of 98.18%; (6) based on the results of the language validator, media, and Lectora Inspire Software-based learning media development material on explanatory text material for class XI students at SMA Negeri 4 Palembang is feasible to use.
