This study aims to find out the role of parents in instilling discipline in children aged (5-6) years during the covid-19 pandemic in Gumai Muara Enim village and the activities carried out by parents to instill discipline in children. In this study using descriptive qualitative research where the data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis used by the researcher is Miles and Huberman's qualitative data analysis. Then, to reduce the data that has been obtained in the field by taking the main and important data, making categorizations that present the data in the form of narrative text. In this study, researchers used three research subjects consisting of parents of children aged (5-6) years in Gumai Muara Enim Village, with the research results obtained, stating that: instilling the character of discipline in children aged (5-6) years can be successful with the support of the role of parents. Researchers found that parents have a dual role in instilling the character of discipline in children, namely guiding, accompanying and facilitating children's learning activities, worshiping children, playing and helping with homework
