PENILAIAN ERODIBILITAS TANAH PADA LAHAN KARET (Hevea brasiliensis) DENGAN TAHUN TANAM YANG BERBEDA DI PT MELANIA INDONESIA KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
Soil erodibility is the value of soil sensitivity to erosion. The higher the erodibility of the soil, the more likely the soil is to experience erosion. This research was conducted at PT Melania Indonesia, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The purpose of this study was to assess soil erodibility, understand the factors influencing soil erodibility, and understand the relationship between soil physico-chemical properties and soil erodibility in rubber plantations based on different planting years. There are differences in soil erodibility values in several years of planting, at 2017, 2007, and 1997 the erodibility values are included in the moderate category and at 2012 and 2002 the erodibility values are included in the rather high category. This is caused by 4 factors that affect the value of soil erodibility. The 4 factors that affect the erodibility of soil are soil texture, soil structure, soil organic matter, and soil permeability. Between the physico-chemical properties of soil such as soil organic matter and soil permeability with soil erodibility values have a negative or inverse correlation, indicating that the greater the value of soil organic matter and soil permeability, the smaller the soil erodibility value. The erodibility values that are in the moderate to high category must be considered because the possibility of soil erosion is greater, so further conservation measures are needed to reduce the erodibility values of the soil. Keywords: Planting Years, Rubber plant, and Soil erodibility.
