UJI KINERJA ALAT PENGERING TIPE BED DRYER UNTUK PENGERINGAN TAPIOKA MENGGUNAKAN BAHAN BAKAR LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GASSES (LPG)
Performance Test of Bed Dryer Type Dryer For Tapioca Drying Using Liquified Petroleum Gasses (LPG) Fuel aims to determine the decrease in tapioca moisture content, tapioca drying rate, temperature in the pile of materials and drying efficiency. The research was conducted from August 2022 to October 2022 on CV. Ogan Makmur Farmer and Biosystems Laboratory, Agricultural Energy and Drafting Department of Agricultural Technology, Sriwijaya University. The study used a Non-Factorial Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with a keteb a treatment and a pile of materials of 1±0.05 cm, 2±0.05 cm, and 3±0.05 cm. The study used three parameters of moisture content reduction rate, drying rate and drying efficiency. The results showed that the treatment of the thickness of the pile of materials had a noticeable effect on the drying rate and the rate of decrease in moisture content. The highest results were obtained at the treatment of stack thickness of 1±0.05 cm with drying rate, water content reduction values and efficiency successively 0.93±0.09 %/hour, 0.88±0.07 % and 17.42 %. The thickness of 3±0.05 cm in can be the lowest result with drying rate, rate of decrease rate and efficiency respectively 0.39±0.07 %/h, 0.41±0.08 % and 12.33 %. Keywords: Bed dryer, drying rate, efficiency, tapioca, water content.
