Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is one of the most important food crops in Indonesia because it is one of the staple food sources in almost all parts of Indonesia. One of the villages in Banyuasin Regency where the majority of farmers cultivate rice is Lebung Village. This village has a large amount of swamp land in Banyuasin Regency, which is utilised by the community to cultivate rice. Rice cultivation on swamp land is certainly different from rice cultivation on tidal or irrigated land, so Lebung Village farmers must have their own local wisdom in conducting rice farming. This research was conducted in Lebung Village, Rantau Bayur Sub-district, Banyuasin Regency. The selection of research locations and sampling was done purposively. Data collection was conducted starting in February 2023. The research method used was the survey method. The sample selection was carried out by purposive sampling with the criteria of research respondents, namely rice paddy farmers in Lebung Village who also conduct traditional fishing business. The results of this study are first, farmers still use local wisdom in farming rice and fishing with traditional tools, second, the behaviour of Lebung Village farmers in farming still looks traditional by using traditional tools and finally obtained by the Lebung Village community has three strategies that they do in order to survive.
