EVALUASI IMPLEMENTASI PENGENDALIAN HAMA DAN PENYAKIT TANAMAN TERPADU OLEH PETANI TERONG DI SUMATERA SELATAN
Eggplant is a vegetable horticultural commodity that is widely cultivated in Indonesia. Eggplant belongs to a group of annual plants from the Solanaceae family which are used as part of the fruit. Eggplant production in Indonesia has decreased from 518,827 tons in 2012 to 225,771 tons in 2013. This is due, in part, to pest and disease attacks on eggplant plants. The purpose of this research is to find out whether eggplant farmers in Ogan Ilir, Banyuasin, and Muara Enim Regencies in South Sumatra Province have correctly implemented integrated pest and plant disease control, or to what extent they have implemented it. The research was conducted using a purposive sampling method by interviewing eggplant farmers regarding the implementation of integrated pest and plant disease control on eggplant plants. The results of the study found 6 types of pests that attacked eggplant in 3 regencies in South Sumatra, namely Aphis sp., Epilachna sp., Spodoptera sp., Bactrocera sp., Leucinodes sp., and Aulocophora sp. leaves, Gemini virus or jaundice, and fruit rot in eggplant plants. Based on the results of research conducted on 43 samples of eggplant farmers, a score of 62% was obtained for applying PHT, which means that eggplant farmers in Ogan Ilir, Banyuasin, and Muara Enim Regencies have implemented IPM quite well. The relationship between PHT scores with pest populations and disease attacks is equally negatively correlated.
