Development in the coastal and marine sector is very important because natural resources on land are starting to run low and the abundance of marine and coastal resource wealth that Indonesia has. One of the potential natural resources in coastal areas is the mangrove ecosystem because this ecosystem has a variety of natural resources that can be utilized by communities in coastal areas to meet their needs. The aims of this study were (1) to describe the economic potential of the mangrove area for the community in Marga Sungsang Village, Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin Regency (2) To determine the value added value of processed marine products in the mangrove resource area in Marga Sungsang Village, Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin Regency (3) Analyzing business development strategies for processed pempek shrimp products in Marga Sungsang Village, Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin Regency. Data collection was carried out in April 2023. The methods used were surveys and case studies. The method used in sampling is purposive sampling method. The data collected in this study are primary data and secondary data. The results of the study show that the mangrove area has various economic potentials such as educational facilities, natural ecotourism, utilization of mangrove plants, a center for marine products and typical processed products. The added value ratio obtained in the processing of pempek shrimp products is 74,55 percent which, based on the criteria for the level of added value, the percentage of this ratio is included in the high category. The development strategy that should be carried out for the shrimp pempek business in Marga Sungsang Village is located in quadrant II (S-T Strategy) so that the shrimp pempek business in Marga Sungsang Village must use all the strength it has in overcoming existing threats.
