SUBSTITUSI ATAU KOMPLEMENTER: PENGARUH PEER TO PEER LENDING TERHADAP KREDIT BANK UMUM DAN KREDIT BANK PERKREDITAN RAKYAT INDONESIA
The emergence of peer to peer lending as a loan-based financial service platform that operates online raises concerns about the sustainability of banks, especially commercial banks and rural banks that have dominated the credit market. . This research aims to analyze the effect of peer to peer lending on commercial bank credit and rural bank credit in Indonesia, whether the relationship formed is substituted or complementary. The method used in this study is panel data regression estimation, and the data used are monthly data per province in Indonesia for the period of January 2020 to September 2022. The results showed that peer to peer lending is complementary to commercial bank credit and rural bank credit in Indonesia, this relationship can be formed for several reasons, such as for the case of commercial banks because they serve different consumer segments and for commercial banks peer to peer lending is not a threat. As for rural banks, the complementary relationship is the result of the partnership established by AFPI and PERBARINDO.
