PERUBAHAN SUDUT NASOLABIAL PADA PASIEN MALOKLUSI KELAS II SETELAH PERAWATAN ORTODONTI (SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW)
Background: Nasolabial angle as a part of facial profile plays role in determining facial attractiveness. Class II division 1 malocclusion has a small nasolabial angle and convex facial profile, causing an unaesthetic facial profile. Class II division 1 malocclusion can be treated with orthodontic treatment using fixed orthodontic appliances to obtain more aesthetic face. Changes in facial structure can be analyzed through cephalometrics. Objective: The purpose of this study was to see whether there were changes in the nasolabial angle before and after orthodontic treatment using fixed orthodontic appliances in Class II division 1 malocclusion cases. Methods: This systematic literature review was selected through the ScienceDirect, Wiley, PubMed, DOAJ, SciELO, and Cochrane databases from January 2008 to December 2022. Full articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were assessed using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme's bias assessment and summarized to obtain demographic data and nasolabial angle value on the journal. Results: This systematic literature review succeeded in synthesizing 10 journals consisting of cohort studies with low bias research results in 5 journals and moderate bias research in 5 journals. All journals in this systematic literature review stated that there was a greater change in the nasolabial angle after orthodontic treatment. Conclusion: There is a greater change of the nasolabial angle in Class II division 1 malocclusion patients after orthodontic treatment using a combination of fixed orthodontic devices.
