PENGGUNAAN HIDROKSIAPATIT NANOKRISTALIN SEBAGAI BAHAN REGENERASI TULANG PADA POKET INFRABONI (SYSTEMATIC REVIEW)
Background: Periodontal disease is one of the most common dental and oral diseases. Periodontal therapy is carried out with the aim of triggering the regeneration of the periodontal tissue in order to provide long-term periodontal stability which can be stimulated by the use of bone grafts. The four commonly used bone graft materials are autograft, allograft, xenograft and alloplast. Nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite (Nc-HA) is the most frequently used alloplast material because of its composition and structural similarity to mineralized natural bone, its closer contact with surrounding tissues and can stimulate osteoblast differentiation and bone formation. Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effect of nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite as a bone regenerating agent on reducing pocket depth and bone defect area in infrabony pocket. Materials and Methods: This research was systematic literature reflection with qualitative analysis of 10 journals. Results: The results showed that 10 journals had the same results regarding pocket depth collection, namely there was significant post-treatment of pocket depth using nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite and there were 9 journals which stated filling of the bone defect area and in 1 journal stated that there was an increase in post-treatment bone probing using nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite. Conclusion: Nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite is effective in reducing pocket depth and filling in bone defect area in infrabony pocket. Keywords: bone regeneration, infrabony pocket, nanocrystalline hydroxyapatite
