PRODUKSI GAS DAN KONSENTRASI METANA RUMPUT GAJAH (Pennisetum Purpureum) YANG DIINKUBASI CAIRAN RUMEN TERADAPTASI DENGAN NPN RUMINOFRASS SECARA IN VITRO
Most of the gas emissions that can cause a greenhouse effect on ruminants come from methane gas (CH₄) produced from enteric fermentation. Methane gas is produced from the process of fermenting forage feed in the rumen. The purpose of this study was to study gas production, methane concentration, dry matter digestibility, and methane concentration on dry matter digestibility in elephant grass in vitro in vitro with rumen fluid incubation adapted to ruminofrass NPN. This research was conducted from September to November 2022 at the Animal Feed and Nutrition Laboratory, Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Institute for Agricultural Environmental Research (Balingtan) Jaken, Central Java. This study used the T-Test Analysis method with 2 treatments and 5 replications, with a total of 10 samples. The treatments consisted of P0 (Rumen Fluid of Slaughterhouse + Elephant Grass) and P1 (Rumen Fluid Adapted to NPN Ruminofrass + Elephant Grass). Parameters observed were gas production (mL), methane concentration (ppm), dry matter digestibility (%) and methane concentration on dry matter digestibility (ppm/g DM) in vitro. The results showed that gas production, methane concentration, dry matter digestibility, and methane concentration on dry matter digestibility was significantly different (P
