HUBUNGAN OBESITAS DENGAN KADAR KOLESTEROL LDL DAN KADAR KOLESTEROL TOTAL PADA MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN DOKTER ANGKATAN 2019 FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Cholesterol is a lipophilic molecule that is very important for human life. Total cholesterol includes low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL, or bad cholesterol) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL, or good cholesterol). The problem of overweight and obesity occurs in all countries over the world including Indonesia. The prevalence of overweight/obesity has increased over the last two decades in Indonesian children, adolescents and adults. Obesity is correlated with an increased risk of cancer, stroke, metabolic disease, heart failure, and other cardiovascular conditions in a person. This study aims to determine the relationship between obesity and LDL and total cholesterol. Methods: The study conducted was an analytic observational with a cross-sectional research design in the form of primary data on students of the 2019 Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University.
