PEMANFAATAN EKSTRAK DAUN BANDOTAN (Ageratum conyzoides) PADA TRANSPORTASI BENIH IKAN GURAME (Osphronemus goramy) DENGAN SISTEM TERTUTUP
Giant gourami is one of freshwater commercial fish in Indonesia which has become the target of increasing aquaculture production. Transportation is one of fish culture activities to meet the fry supply from the hatchery. The process of fish transporting often experiences stress, thereby reducing the survival rate. The purpose of this research was to determine the best concentration of bandotan leaf extract for the survival rate of gourami fry, the level of oxygen consumption, blood glucose and water quality on closed system transportation. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of four treatments and three replications. The treatments were different concentrations of bandotan leaf extract for giant gourami, consisting of 0 mL L-1 (P0), 1.5 mL L-1 (P1), 3 mL L-1 (P2), 4.5 mL L-1 (P3). The concentration of bandotan leaf extract 3 mL L-1 (P2) was the best treatment resulted in survival rate during transportation and rearing for 14 days of 86.56% and 98.41%, post transportation blood glucose 96.25 mg dL-1 and the average of oxygen consumption level 0.28 O2 g -1 hour-1. Water quality during the study was still within the optimal range for giant gourami during transportation and rearing.
