RESPON HEMATOLOGI KAMBING KACANG PADA CEKAMAN PANAS
Areas with a tropical climate have a high intensity of sunlight which can cause livestock to experience heat stress so that it has a negative impact on the productivity of goats. The hematological response of goats can be a sign that the animal is experiencing heat stress. This study aimed to determine the hematological response of Kacang goats to high environmental temperatures This study was conducted from July to September 2022. This study used the T test with 2 treatments, namely: normal ambient temperature (33˚C) and hot ambient temperature (38˚C) with 6 goats as replicates. The results of the hematological data showed no significant changes in the levels of hemoglobin, erythrocytes, leukocytes, and hematocrit, but there were significant changes in the blood glucose and cholesterol levels of the Kacang Goats. Glucose experienced a significant decrease in the hot temperature treatment (59.99 mg/dL) compared to the normal temperature treatment (88.72 mg/dL), as well as blood cholesterol levels, which experienced a significant increase in the hot temperature treatment (82 .83 mg/dL) compared to normal temperature treatment (53.00 mg/dL).
