EVALUASI KESESUAIAN LAHAN UNTUK TANAMAN LEGUME COVER CROP DI IUP BANKO BARAT PT BUKIT ASAM Tbk TANJUNG ENIM, SUMATERA SELATAN
Reclamation activities can be carried out by covering the surface of the post-coal mining land. One of them is planting LCC plants which function to reduce the impact power of rainwater and reduce the discharge of water on the soil surface, this planting also has a positive impact on the post-coal mining land ecosystem. In its activities, PT Bukit Asam Tbk uses two types of LCC plants namely Centrosema pubescens and Calopogonium mucunoides.LCC is a plant with creeping growth and is able to produce organic matter that works to increase soil fertility. This study aims to evaluate the suitability of post-coal mining land for LCC plants Centrosema pubescens and Calopogonium mucunoidesas well as recommendations on fertilization and liming that can be done. This research was conducted at IUP Banko Barat PT Bukit Asam Tbk Tanjung Enim. The method used in this study is the detail level survey method and observing in the laboratory, by taking soil samples using techniques purposive random sampling on plants that grew and did not grow, and 3 replicates were taken in different planting years. Based on the results of land suitability evaluation research for LCC plants, it shows land suitability classes S2 (quite suitable) to S3 (suitable marginal), thus every year planting has the same limiting factors, namely nutrient retention (nr) and available nutrients (na). These limiting factors can be managed by improving land conditions through fertilization and liming so as to increase the land suitability class two levels higher (++) so that it becomes a land suitability class S1 (very suitable) while in the potential land suitability class S2 (quite suitable) can increased one level (+) by applying fertilizer and lime to become S1 (very suitable).
