APLIKASI Trichoderma sp. TERHADAP PENYAKIT LAYU FUSARIUM PADA TANAMAN CABAI MERAH (Capsicum annum L.)
Red chili (Capsicum annum L.) was a horticultural crop that has high economic value and was a plant that is widely cultivated by Indonesian people. In cultivating chili plants there were often obstacles such as the presence of fusarium wilt. One of the good biological agents for controlling fusarium wilt is the fungus Trichoderma sp. Antibiosis and lysis of Trichoderma sp. inhibits the metabolic precesses of pathogens because they produce metabolic subtances, competition for Trichoderma sp. can compete in utilizing the nutrients available in the soil. Therefore, this study aims to determine the dose of Trichoderma sp. liquid in suppressing the development of fusarium wilt in red chili (Capsicum annum L.). This research was carried out at the Laboratory and Experimental Field of the Dapartment of Plant Pests and diseases. North Indralaya, South Sumatera from August to December 2022. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 4 treatments with 8 replications to obtain 32 experimental units. Each experimental unit consisted of 1 red chili plant, so that in total it consisted of 32 red chili plants. From the results of the study that isolate Fusarium oxysporum isolates microspically had a characteristic morphological structure of the mycelium which was yellowish white in color, hyphae insulated, and microconidia which were shaped like crescents with 2-5 partitions. The symptoms caused by the fungus F. oxysporum were the lower leaves turning yellow and then wilting at the age of 35 days after inoculation. Control treatment without Trichoderma sp. indicated the highest disease severity, which was 80,63%. Treatment using Trichoderma sp. as much as 25 mL showed the lowest severity of disease, namely 5,36%. The highest plant height was in the P3 treatment, which was 36,34 cm, and the lowest plant height was in the P0 treatment, which was 25,30 cm. In the control, the number of leaves was 24,88, while the highest number of leaves was in the P3 treatment, namelt 44,88. The conclusion in this study is the administration of Trichoderma sp. had an effect on the intensity of disease attack, plant height, and number of leaves on red chili (Capsicum annum L.) at 35 days after inoculation. Administration of Trichoderma sp. effect on the percentage of disease attack, in the P3 treatment, namely 5.63%. Much different from the control without Trichoderma sp. namely 80.63%. Plant height in the P3 treatment was 36.34 cm, while in P0 it was 25.30 cm. The number of leaves in the P3 treatment was 44.88, while in P0 was 24.88.
