ANALISIS KINERJA KOMPRESI CITRA DIGITAL DENGAN KOMPARASI DCT DAN DWT
Digital images that have a large size require large storage. One way to reduce the size of the image is by compression. Compression is the process of minimizing the size of an image to produce a denser or lighter digital representation. In this study using the DCT and DWT Algorithms. The research data are as many as 5 objects, namely animals, clouds, flowers, nature and people. Image data formats are JPG, JPEG and PNG. The highest value of the compression ratio (CR) is obtained for natural objects, namely 46.92%. The lowest mean square error (MSE) value was obtained for cloud objects, namely 2.45 dB. the highest peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) value was obtained on cloud objects with a value of 45.22 dB. Based on the average results for each image format, the DWT algorithm has the best average digital image compression results than the DCT algorithm and the average values for each test are CR 57.53%, MSE 3.32db and PSNR 43.57dB.
