OBJEKTIVITAS PEMBERITAAN PADA MEDIA ONLINE DI INDONESIA (ANALISIS KORPUS PEMBERITAAN KENAIKAN HARGA BBM PERIODE AGUSTUS-SEPTEMBER 2022)
President Joko Widodo on 3 September 2022 through various media officially announced an increase in fuel prices. This decision certainly reaped various responses from various groups, both the public, observers, and political actors. The media as a distributor of information to the public is of course a concern and something that is needed by the public to see the development of this issue. The media has a responsibility to always place objectivity in overseeing and reporting on every issue that exists. This study aims to see how objective the reporting of fuel price hikes is on online media in Indonesia for the period August-September 2022. This research was conducted using a mixed method, by conducting a gradual quantitative-qualitative analysis using web-based software, namely Voyant Tools. From the results of the study it was found that the media in reporting on the increase in fuel prices mostly mentioned the topics of fuel price increases, subsidies, assistance, demonstrations, the impact of the increase in fuel prices in the Jakarta area, inflation, and the state budget, and the results showed that online media in Indonesia adheres to the principle of factuality in reporting on the issue of rising fuel prices. However, in general, the media has not met the impartiality dimension of objectivity in reporting on the issue of rising fuel prices because the media gives more space to government groups in writing news related to rising fuel prices.
