MAKNA PESAN NONVERBAL DALAM ANIMASI “HOPE (2020)”
Environmental damage is a global issue. And the animation "Hope (2020)" is one of the animations that raises the issue of environmental damage and its impacts. This study aims to determine the meaning of nonverbal messages in the animation "Hope (2020)" using a descriptive qualitative research method. Sources of data were obtained through documentation and literature studies on the primary data of the "Hope (2020)" animation scene. This study uses Charles Sanders Peirce's Semiotics theory which focuses on studying signs. The analysis will go through Peirce's Trichotomy, Representamen, Object, and Interpretant processes. And the results of the study show the message of the meaning of environmental damage and its impact on marine biota as well as an overview of the process of human life's journey which is represented through a turtle hatchling named Aqua. This animation is one of the efforts to convey a message to the public to be aware of the use and management of waste.
