This study examines the implementation of the policy for the provision of lactation space at the Regional Secretariat of Palembang City. The background to the problem of this research is that the lactation room provided by the Regional Secretariat of Palembang City was not maintained during the pandemic and the room was also expertly used as a storage room by the staff and employees there, while female employees expressed breast milk in their workplace, the lactation room provided also far and difficult to reach by employees and not equipped with equipment that is in accordance with the instructions in the regulations. The purpose of this study was to find out how the implementation of the policy for providing lactation rooms at the Regional Secretariat of Palembang City. This study uses the theory of Randall B. Rippley and Grance A. Franklin which consists of the level of compliance, the smooth implementation of routine functions, the realization of the desired performance and impact. The type of research used is descriptive with qualitative research methods. From the results of data analysis, the implementation of the policy for providing lactation rooms at the Regional Secretariat has not been in accordance with the needs of employees, where the rooms have not run according to their functions and objectives, and there are still some problems from the implementation of this policy for providing lactation rooms. From the results of this study, it is recommended that the Palembang City Regional Secretariat is expected to make regulations regarding the provision of lactation rooms and cooperate with related agencies, such as the Palembang City Health Office, and the existence of supervision in the provision of lactation rooms.
