Maritime Labor Convention or MLC is a comprehensive international labor Convention adopted by ILO in February 2006. Indonesia ratified the MLC on September 8 2016 and is regulated in Law Number 15 of 2016. There are still many Indonesian crew members who work on foreign fishing vessels abroad, often experience unpleasant treatment and often experience violations of their human rights. The author's aim is to describe how the implementation of the 2006 MLC which was ratified by Indonesia for the protection of the rights of Indonesian seafarer. The author uses library techniques, namely the data collection method by reading the literature and reference books related to the parent and the problems the researcher observes to obtain theories that can be used as available data analysis tools. MLC is the world''s guiding arrangement that lays out minimum principles for working conditions and governmental assistance to seafarers worldwide. MLC expects seafarers to approach clinical judgment, a good everyday environment, and reasonable hours of work and rest. The ratification of MLC has influenced labor policies, regulations and practices in the maritime sector in Indonesia. The implementation of the MLC in Indonesia is a significant step in protecting the rights of workers in the marine sector. However, despite significant progress, there are still a number of challenges that need to be overcome in implementing MLC in Indonesia. Several violations still occur, and law enforcement against these violations needs to be improved.
