PEMANFAATAN MEDIA SOSIAL INSTAGRAM @PIKNIKKERINCI SEBAGAI MEDIA PROMOSI WISATA KABUPATEN KERINCI
This study is entitled “The Utilization of Social Media – Instagram as Media to Promote Tourism in Kerinci Regency”. It aimed to determine how the utilization of social media by Piknik Kerinci account as online media in order to promote tourism in Kerinci Regency. The researcher used Media Richness Theory (MRT) by Daft & Lengel as the main reference in this study. The theory consisted of four elements, that are Immediacy of Information, Multiple Cues, Language Variety, and Personal Source. This study adopts the qualitative method, data obtained through the result of depth interviews with two key informants and three supporting informants. In addition, the data was also obtained through observation and documentation. The results and discussion in this study found that the utilization of social media – Instagram by @piknikkerinci account has fulfilled the elements of Media Richness Theory. It also actively uploads the kerinci tourism content as representation to promote Kerinci tourism by using the Instagram features. Keywords : Instagram Social Media, promotion, tourism.
