PERKEMBANGAN FOLIKEL PADA SAPI BELGIAN BLUE DAN SAPI PERANAKAN ONGOLE (PO) YANG MENGALAMI DELAYED OVULASI DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN ULTRASONOGRAFI (USG)
Delayed ovulation is a condition where ovulation is delayed. the cause of delayed ovulation in cattle is due to the lack of LH and FSH hormones in the blood. The study was conducted to determine the size and development of follicles in Belgian Blue and PO cattle diagnosed with Delay Ovulation. The research was conducted from October 2022 to December 2022 at BPTU HPT Sembawa, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The cattle that will be used are Belgian Blue cross-breed cattle and Ongole-breed cattle (PO). Observations were made using Ultrasonography. Parameters observed included the number of follicle diameters on the bovine ovary as measured using an internal USG clipper, namely the distance between the two axis points based on the longest axis in cm units. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively by comparing the results obtained and presented in tabular form. The results showed that there was a prolonged estrous period, which was more than 36 hours to 46 hours, while the status of the estrous cycle at the time of observation was normal, and there were no abnormalities in the estrus mucus and the reproductive tract. Belgian Blue cattle that experience delayed ovulation have a de Graaf follicle size of 3 cm, which is smaller than the Ongole breed cattle with a size of 1.50 cm. Furthermore, the results of the study showed that the observed Belgian Blue cattle showed delayed ovulation reproductive disorders. Meanwhile, the Ongole Breed (PO) observing the follicles in the picture above shows normal follicular development.
