STRATEGI KOMUNIKASI PUBLIC RELATIONS DALAM MEMULIHKAN CITRA PERUSAHAAN PASCA KRISIS DAMPAK LINGKUNGAN DI PT BUKIT ASAM TBK UNIT DERMAGA KERTAPATI PALEMBANG (Studi Deskriptif Pada Masyarakat Kelurahan Kertapati).
The image and reputation of the company in this globalization era is very crucial, because it can be a determining factor for success and shape the characteristics of a company. For this reason, the role of Public Relations (PR) is needed to be an important part of the company to be able to become an extension of the company's arm with the community. PT Bukit Asam, which was established in 1981, is one of the BUMNs engaged in the mining sector. PT. Bukit Asam has a loading and unloading pier in Kecamatan Kertapati, Palembang City. Based on online news, it is known that this company is experiencing an environmental crisis and has received a red report card. In this research, the researcher used Coombs' theory of crisis communication strategy as the main theory in this research. The research design was divided into 2 strategies, namely mortification strategy and distance strategy. The results of the research found PT Bukit Asam Tbk through PR in re-establishing communication with the community, making CSR programs and other community activities. Persuasive communication on approaches to the public, PR practitioners also implement several aspects of communication such as mass communication in spreading news, interpersonal communication when providing information and internal communication before approaching the public. PT Bukit Asam Tbk Kertapati Jetty Unit also carries out the Public Relations function, namely restoring the company's image and handling negative company news.
