ANALISIS RESEPSI KHALAYAK TERHADAP KOMUNIKASI KELUARGA PADA FILM NGERI-NGERI SEDAP
"Missing Home" is a film that carries a family theme with a background of a Batak family living in a village on the shores of Lake Toba. The film told the story of the three children who have wandered and are hard to be asked to return home. The family referred to here is that which consists of father, mother, and children. Communication problems are often the main problem that causes the distance between parents and children to be tenuous. The director himself hopes that this film can provide a change in the pattern of communication that occurs in the family. This research was made using the audience reception analysis method where the audience, in this case, acts as an audience that perceives the contents of messages from the media using their respective perspectives. Hall in "encoding-decoding" reveals that there are 3 factors that affect the audience reception, namely: the frame of knowledge, infrastructure technology, and relations of production. The result of this study is that the audience or viewers will be grouped into 3 reading positions based on their reception. As a result, 5 out of 7 informants agree with the preferred reading (main meaning) of the film and enter into a position of the dominant hegemony, then the remaining 2 agree with some adjustments based on what they experience in their daily lives and enter into a negotiating position.
